Terms of Service

Last updated October 19, 2026

These terms are the agreement between your business and Source of Truth (“SOT”, “we”, “us”), the company in Houston, Texas that makes the Source of Truth service (“the service”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

The short version of the billing terms. Every plan starts with two months free. A card is taken at sign-up, and nothing is charged during the free months. When they end, the card is charged your plan’s monthly price, shown to you before you start, and again each month until you cancel. You can cancel any time in Settings → Billing. Cancel during the free months and you are never charged; cancel later and your plan runs to the end of the month already paid for, then stops.

1. Who can use Source of Truth

The service is for businesses and the people who work with them. You must be at least 18 and able to make a binding agreement for the business you sign up. The person who creates a workspace is its owner and is responsible for the account, for everyone they invite into it, and for keeping sign-in details secure. Tell us straight away at info@getsourceoftruth.com if you think someone has got into your account.

2. Your subscription, free months and automatic renewal

3. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel any time from Settings → Billing inside the app, without calling or writing to us. Cancelling stops all future charges. If you cancel during your free months, you are never charged. If you cancel after a charge, you keep access until the end of the month you have paid for, and the subscription does not renew. Payments already made are not refunded for partial months, except where the law requires it or where we have charged you in error, which we will always put right. You can undo a cancellation before your paid month ends.

4. Your data

Your business’s content (clients, bookings, documents, files, messages and everything else you or your team put into the service) belongs to you. You give us permission to store, process and display it only so we can run the service for you, including showing the parts you choose to share to your clients and vendors. We do not sell your data. You can export it at any time, including after you cancel. How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

If your subscription ends, we keep your workspace for at least 90 days so you can export it or come back. After that we may delete it, and we will email the owner before we do.

5. Your clients, vendors and team

You decide who you invite and what each person can see. Clients and vendors you invite use the service for free, under these terms as they apply to them. You are responsible for having the right to share the information you put in front of them, and for your own agreements with your clients, including any contract you send for signature through the service.

6. Payments you take from clients

Client payments are processed by Stripe through your own connected Stripe account and are subject to Stripe’s terms. The money goes to your account; we take no share of it. Stripe’s processing fees apply. Refunds and disputes with your clients are between you and your client.

7. Electronic signatures

The service lets you send documents for electronic signature and records when and how each one was signed. Whether a particular document is enforceable depends on its contents and the law that applies to it; we do not give legal advice, and you are responsible for the documents you send.

8. Acceptable use

Don’t use the service to break the law, send spam, upload anything you don’t have the right to share, or harm the service or other people using it, including by trying to get into accounts or data that aren’t yours. We may suspend an account that does, and will tell you why unless the law or someone’s safety prevents it.

9. Features in development and the assistant

Some tools are marked “Coming soon” or “In development” and are not part of your plan until they are released. The built-in assistant uses AI to answer questions and draft text from your own workspace. Its output can be wrong, so check anything it drafts before you rely on it or send it.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Source of Truth available and your data safe, but we can’t promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We improve the service over time and may change or remove features; if we remove something central to your plan, we will tell you in advance.

11. Disclaimers and limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind beyond those stated in these terms. To the extent the law allows, neither we nor you will be liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost business, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

12. Ending this agreement

You can stop using the service and cancel at any time. We may end or suspend an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms or doesn’t pay. Where we can, we will give notice and the chance to export your data first.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and the United States. If a dispute comes up, email us first and we will try to sort it out directly. If we can’t, it will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, unless the law where you are gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email the workspace owner at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms; if you don’t, you can cancel before they apply.
